92292 Kyushu K11W1 Attack

The K11W1 Shiragiku was a land-based bombing trainer aircraft for on-board work, it was designed to train crews in operating equipment for bombing, navigation, and communication, as well as navigation techniques. In November 1942, the prototype performed its maiden fligh and the K11W entered IJN service in mid 1943 Year. This which designated the type as the Navy Operations Trainer Shiragiku. Powered was by a 515 Hp nine-cylinder radial engine, which drove a twin-bladed metal propeller. For armaments training, it was furnished with a single rear-facing flexibly-mounted 7.7 mm machine gun and the ability to carry a of 30 kg or 60kg bombs. In May, trainer aircraft were modified for offensive operations and equipped with a fuselage hardpoint for a 250 kg bomb. They were deployed in May and June 1945 in attacks against radars on American ships around Okinawa. Read more
