92043 Zlin-XIII and Zlin-XII.102

The Zlín Z-XIII was a Czechoslovak all-wooden low-wing aircraft from the second half of the 1930s. The designer was Jaroslav Lonek. Development was completed in March 1939 and only one prototype was built. With a 130hp engine, it reached speeds of up to 350 km/h. It could fly as a single or two-seater. Read more

The prototype piloted by Maj. Ján Ambruš was supposed to take part in the Circuit de l'Est race in France in August 1937. Unfortunately, it arrived at Vittel airport near Épinal late and was not allowed to compete in the race itself. The prototype survived World War II hidden in a hangar and after the war was placed in the collections of the National Technical Museum in Prague. It was renovated in 1989–1990 and is on display in the hall.
